Sculpting Hair!

Okay first and foremost ... major MAJOR PROPS to all the sculptors on this forum and beyond who sculpt women with LONG HAIR ...cause HOLY CRAP this is hard!!!

I'm working on a She-Hulk / Thundra conversion, and I've hit a brick wall .... so having never done this to completion before, I need some help from the masters!!!

I've got the basic form of the hair and it's flow down,

but now I wanna put in the details, can anyone offer some good tips to someone that flying blind?

I put the Thundra in the FF cube for scale ... and BOY is it off!!! I'm gonna have to belt sand the base height down by half ... at least.

Doesn't always cut straight, belt sanding is easier.

Jesse321:
You need to sculpt the hair in layers start from the bottom then goes up to achieve the 3-D look. It is good that you know how you want your hair to look already, but you need to remove the all of the hairs that flows on the "top" and get down to the "bottom" hairs. Start putting the details on the bottom hairs, once you are done, then add the next layer of hairs and add details to this layer. Repeat until you are done. See attached picture of one of my WIP sculpt as an sample.

Thanks Moore, I found a terrific article/tutorial at the Clubhouse that REALLY helped me out. Here are some somewhat finished pictures before she got the old heave ho into the Kenmore.

Taking into consideration that this is only the 2nd time I've tried this, I'm pretty happy with how it worked out.
