IGO- I thnk you in turn may have misinterpreted his comment as well.
I think glassdancers frustration is that they made an EU interpretation of maul before making a "traditional" interpretation of Maul for an animated maquette.

I can see where he is coming from- I would have rathered one that looked like the character from the movies before an EU verison of him, considering this is the first rendition of Maul we have for the maquette line.

I think what glassdancer is actually trying to say is that before there were only two lines:

Clone Wars (which is now reportedly over -but after the new animated film/series we will see...)

&

Original Trilogy

Rather than concentrate on those two lines and giving us characters we want/still left to do, they instead bring out a new line with Maul who is now Prequels.

When you consider the amount of these maquettes they are pumping out just recently compared to the 1/6 statues it just shows these things must be a lot easier to make and most of all cheaper to produce (hence recent bad paint jobs).

Thanks you guys!!!

YOU ARE ACTUALLY BOTH CORRECT!!!!!

Obviously, for those of us who collected the clone wars,.....we wanted to see a few other pieces made before having them cancel the line,....ie: Count Dooku, Durge, and others.......

But then when they began the line of what they called the "Animated series",.....they began coming off as JUST concentrating on the later three series.......Episodes 4, 5 and 6. And in doing so, they seemed to have a pretty fair idea of how to do it, and were pretty successful at it as they stayed consistent with the charatcers, their poses and even so,....their bases, which woul dhelp to actually "place" them in a particular scene in any one of the movies.

Then to introduce a Darth Maul (who would undoubtedly be the first from the Prequel movies), and to portray him in a fashion that we are NOT used to seeing him in the movie, .....well, that just throws many of us "off!" Then to add the fact that there are STILL YET SOOOOO many other characters that need attention from the later movies,......like the Ewoks (who would,..I hate to say it,...look GREAT animated),......, Old Ben (which is Now a reality), a Biker Scout, A Snowtrooper, perhaps Bossk, Ig-88, perhaps a Bib Fortuna with a Salacious Crumb, etc., etc., etc......obviously these could look great animated....

So again, IF you're gonna go ahead and just, for lack of a better phrase, ......"jump the line" and introduce a "Darth Maul,"......why not make him to look more as how he was represented in Episode 1....??? Perhaps crouched over with his double bladed lightsaber behind him and his cloak and robe to mimic the folds found in the maquette with Luminara and Bariss Offee.....????

For me, the Obi Wan looks great!! Hunched over and "getting too old for this!!!", but yet, still brave enough to weild the lightsaber!!

Perfect!!!

I hope that this clarifies!!!!!

Diggin' the Obi-Wan.

Not so sure about the Maul though. Was hoping for something a little less EU but I need to see more pics before I pass final judgment. It'll probably grow on me though as I love the character.

Obi wan looks way too young in the pic.
He looks like a 20 something with grey hair and a beard.

speaking of Mace this Maul nearly confirms what i said all along and we'll see an entire line of prequeals and thus everybody who missed the exclusive can get another shot at Mace

So you guys are mad just because the character is done in EU style rather than Prequel style, just because that throws you off? How many Mauls are out there? This is the only statue of Maul made in EU fashion... honestly, thank God someone did it. I think it's ballsy as hell, and cool as **** to see him shirtless and tatted up.

You guys are acting like they totally effed up, stole from you, or there was more poor CS again, when all they did was offer something unique (and in my opinion bad-A) of a character that you'll more than likely never see like it

And with popular characters come more interpretations, and since the line continues, Im betting that some day down the line you might get the more common version of Maul that's been done a million times before. Even if it hasnt been animated, it has been done, a lot, and it's cool to see more EU stuff come to light in the resin treatment.

So letting something so subjective as taste in direction piss you off so much as to say you hate a company is just sad.
