To be honest if teaming up with Koto is the reason so many companies here in US are losing their marvel license I rather not see this collaboration going on.
Koto started the Japanese PVC figure market but under the grave competition from other quality companies Koto has pretty much been kicked out of the game they started.
So they're trying to get some attention from over-sea customers now I see.

That's pretty much what the situation is I am sure. In fact, it is now my understanding that Hasbro actually has a big say in anything Marvel does in the collectible/statue/toy markets. HASBRO is the main party where all licensing deals involving Marvel go through. I wasn't aware of that before and was strictly blaming Marvel, but apparently I have to change my tune. Furthermore, it explains why Koto got such a big deal with Marvel.
