Artist Proof or #1?
As above, would you prefer having an AP statue or #1?
Also, if you already have a #1, would you buy an AP of the same statue, cos it's on sale?

I know someone who was buying was buying Akuma statues before they worth anything. Maybe 200-300 each. He was buying Shins and regulars. I kept asking, "Why do you keep buying the same damn statue?". He was just a fan, not really looking to flip. He really made out because he sold one later and paid for them all. I think one of them was an AP as well. We all know what the Akumas are going for now on the bay.

I understand, i'm just giving my opinion
Personally i think it's stupid for someone to buy an expensive item because there's something 'special' on the bottom

I don't care if it's #1,000,000,000. If I like the piece, I buy it.
If I had a #1 and the thing was in perfect shape with a nice paint job, I wouldn't buy an AP. Unless, the paint job was much better. Then I'd sell the #1 and get the AP.

I too see little reason in purchasing multiples of the same piece. Nonetheless, there are those who relish the opportunity to do so.
As for whether I'd purchase something I already have in my collection simply based upon it having "AP" stamped on the base, no, I would not.
In some instances an Artist Proof may be an improvement over a factory finish, but this is not always guaranteed.

Obviously the question is not directed at any one person, and as a forum member, kinkyqueen, gave his opinion.

If I could choose between the two I would definitely choose the AP. I'm sure in 99% of cases the AP would have the better paint job, even if only slightly.
If I had the #1 of a statue and had a chance to get the AP I would, but I would sell the #1 after. I wouldn't want two. Unless I had the kind of money I could just throw away.
