Easy Queastion, sometimes not so easy answer..

Question: Why do you collect the things you collect?, let it be comics, statues, art etc.

Answer: Well for my part I Collect statues, the reason I think is that when I look at the statues I grew up reading as a kid I get a feeling of calmness and safeness. Without getting to psychological I guess it makes my mind fly away from the ordeals of everyday problems.

Why do you collect?...

I enjoy having art around that inspires me or interests me. As someone involved in artistic industry myself, it only makes sense to support what I enjoy.

Well like you guys stated it has a calming effect that reminds of when I was a kid when I did not have as many cares as today. Also the art just speaks to me. There is just something that the human body expresses that other art cannot touch. I also think that I got the collecter mentality from my mother's side too.

Power of the symbology for some of them.

The objects mean things to me that I enjoy being reminded of.

Inspiration because of what the characters are about, fun memories or just looks good.

It is comforting to be in ones collection.

People have been at it a long time, ancient small statues are found all over the world.

Our modern pop culture "myths", our "gods" if you will carved into stone may not be all that different from why people did it in ancient times.

We put these objects in protected places, gaze upon them in "worship" LOL

Who knows.

It's fun though.

Most of my collection are movie related and I love movies. If I try to delve a little deeper, I would say that movies help me to escape all the pressures of life such as work, finances, global warming (sorry bout that) etc . . . you can completely lose yourself in another world. My statues and busts etc are a constant reminder of those other worlds.

And of course . . . . they just look bl@@dy cool

As a kid I always wanted to have all my favorite characters in a collection. Toys never did much until I discovered statues and I was hooked. Guess I never actually grew up.
