AUCTION IS LIVE! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170437372130
Or, eBay auction ID: 170437372130

Happy bidding!

Greetings fellow forum junkies!

In light of the terrible events in Haiti, SOTA Toys has decided to auction this ONE-OFF prototype to the highest bidder on eBay, with all profits donated to the relief effort. This piece was a prototype produced during the production of our Blanka Resin Statue, and looks absolutely fabulous. Included with the statue will be a certificate of authenticity verifying the rarity of the piece. A true collector's item, as it is the only one in existence.

The auction will begin on February 1st, 2010. Stay tuned to our News Page for information relating to the auction, or check back with this thread!

Best,
AJ

Hmmm...I think I may have to try my luck on this. Can't go too high though because Juri will be on pre-order soon and Zangief Pf is right around the corner as well. Damn budget...

This would be great to have though!

AJN, what ever happened to the blue Blanka variant you had on your past projects section? Did that get sold or given away to somebody?

Andrew, if you win this piece, you'll have an even more epic collection of SF statues. Best of luck on the bidding!

To answer your questions, our old site featured a blue Blanka that was simply a mock-up (read: Photoshop) but never even got produced. We also had the blue lightning one (that will be auctioned), along with 2 differently styled green lightning Blankas. One of which is in the boss's personal collection, signed by Yoshinori Ono, and I doubt he'll part with it.

So the final Blanka count would be 500 regular production versions, 1 blue lightning prototype, and 2 green lightning prototypes.

Corrections:

Blanka ES is 500 and there are NO variants. "Lightning Blanka" is a concept prototype I made with the intention to produce, but never did. There were altogether 3 concept prototypes made (and they are all different), one got damaged, one signed by Ono-San as a gift for me, and the last one will be auctioned off on Feb 1st.
