The title of this thread has the words "mixed media" in it. It is fair to assume there will be real cloth.

wait for it...
Yes I was the whole time under the impression that it would be some kind of premium format as a nice adition to the PCS pieces. The shown pictures don't look like mixed media, maybe this is because it's just a prototype?

It's just a 3D rendering, you have to imagine it's real clothing.

Well, this is a surprise. I'm still iffy about it, but I'll keep an eye on this.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Will this piece be sold through Sideshow?

I think that if you made the aura in black or something.. so it looks like he's doing the FOCUS ATTACK then you might be able to pull this off.

Yeah the aura is the trickiest part. I've seen so many resin ones that just look cheesy and ruin the piece.

some sideshow "mixed-media" do not have cloth on them. for example the Creature of Black Lagoon PF. http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=...rce=search0109

The statue was considered mixed-media because of various types of materials were used, not necessarily cloth but different types of media. Probably the mixed-media for this Ryu statue will be the incorporation of lights and different material for the power surge.

Hope aj or other sota rep can chime in and answer.

See the problem with adding fabric to that sculpt is that there is no way you're going to make the fabric fall as awesomely as you see there. You can probably put the wires in the belt to make it fan out, but the wind blowing effect and the creases will be impossible to duplicate well. Even the flared out pants at the bottom will be gone, it will just fall around his legs. Although fabric can sometimes accent the piece, for this particular pose they have chosen, I would agree that fully sculpted is the way to go for optimal effect.
