Rest in peace, Joe. The man gets nothing but respect from anyone who's ever put on the gloves, and rightfully so. I've boxed recreationally for about ten years now, on and off, and he's one of the first people that's referenced by "old dogs" at any gym.
Definitely a Legendary figurehead for the sport; then, now and always.

Very sad. I met Joe back in 1986 when I worked in Sears, turned out he knew someone who worked there and was there for a visit. I still have the autograph he gave me. RIP Joe
