Finally saw the first Ghost Rider earlier; I even used to own the DVD but never watched it.
Not as bad as I thought it'd be. 4/10.

safe house - 8/10 best ryan renolds film ever........... denzel is the man!
Ghost rider 3d - way better CGI for sure - 6.5/10 story still not great but the overall look rocked
journey 2 - 7/10 - good family movie. nice CGI.

As far as 28 Days, I've always categorized it as a zombie flick even if it's not really about zombies. Even Boyle himself once said "I don't see 28 Days Later as part of some zombie lineage"
BTW. Really enjoyed The Dead. Great flick

Resident Evil video games would also need to be somehow credited, as it least got a segment of people (video game geeks) hungry for movies.
