That's a big haul Scott . . . I have got to get hold of Deadwood on BD . . . I've only seen a few episodes from season 1 and then ran out of time, but loved every minute of it

Have not seen this movie. Is it worth a blind buy?

The Cabin in the Woods? Yes.

Hopefully it's laden down with extras, too.

Absolutely. One of the best films of the year.

Received a much sought after import today of one of my favorite horror films. This is the most I've ever spent on an individual BD release but I honestly don't see this title making its way stateside anytime soon due to the issues surrounding the rights for the film.

This King Records Japanese release is REGION FREE, no forced subtitles and doesn't suffer from as much of the overexposure and color saturation that plagued the region locked UK release which was sourced from Technicolor's "controversial" 2007 digital restoration.

That's cool. I have the DVD but I'd be curious as to the quality of this BD and whether it would be worth the upgrade. I'm surprised Criterion haven't released this.

I would love for Criterion to pick this up but I just don't see it happening. We'd have a better chance of Blu Underground getting it but even that would be a long shot due to the Weinstein's owning the rights to Suspiria and the rumored remake. Unfortunately they've shown no interest in any BD release.

I did a lot of research on this release. Probably more than I have for any other title. While not perfect its still the best version out there from what I've gathered in both reviews and fan opinion.

I'll make a point to post my thoughts after watching it but in the meantime here is one of the more informative comparisons of the Suspiria releases.

Think I might pick this one up on the weekend. Army of Darkness - The Necronomicon BD Edition, which contains:

Disc 1 (Blu Ray): The Theatrical Version
Disc 2 (DVD): The Theatrical Version
Disc 3 (DVD): The Director’s Cut

Special Features
12 Original drawings from the Book of the Dead
Audio Commentary with Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell
Deleted Scenes
Creating the Deadites: Documentary exploring the groundbreaking visual effects
Alternate Ending
Deleted Scenes
Original Trailer

Of course, I'm not sure the cover is real human flesh

Chances are it's rubber like the original book of the dead DVD set that was released years ago. I wonder if it screams too when you press the eye.
