Just got back from this.
Really enjoyed it.
One question just popped into my head as Predator was on last night.
Does Prometheus void the Aliens V Predator movies as the "Aliens" won't be created hundreds of years after Predators arrive on earth?
IE how can a queen be under Antarctica when process to create them doesn't start until the late 2100s??

Loved Fassbender as David. The Weyland corp at its finest.
Pretty sure he knows exactly what he is doing even if he doesn't know what the goo is/does.
Another question why didn't Halloway just take his helmet off instead of having Vickers torch him?

That wasn't Tom Hardy. What good would have come from him taking his helmet off? The air was toxic and he knew he was infected and dying.

Yep I know guess it's cos the Dark Knight trailer was in before the movie.
Well he ended up dying either way but I guess they where thinking flames would have burnt up the infection

Yeah sorry, I realized what you meant after I walked away from my computer.
However, like you said, it would destroy whatever was afflicting him.

But gotta say to me it always appeared like David was already in the know-how of things including what the black goo does. Though he was shooting in the dark seems to be the approach taken and is probably more acceptable.

I might be wrong, but I saw David's motives as being to aid his creator (Weyland) in his search for self preservation as well. I also liked the way David's intentions did seem some what ambiguous for most of the movie. Was he going to be more sinister like Ash or more of a saviour like Bishop . . . I liked not knowing which way he would go. And I think he slipped the black goo mickey to Halloway because he was searching for solutions at Weylands behest. He might have looked at the rest of the team as guinea pigs to a certain extent.

Easy question... just got back from viewing #2; well worth it.
Where did David see the "other ships" that he knew there were more of, that he mentions to Shaw? I only remember seeing the one ship... how'd he know there were others?

David had more or less worked out their language (he could translate the gliphs on the walls and could speak with the engineer) and he was also able to activate the ships control having watched the hologram. I think it was from that that he learned of the engineer's intentions / plans to destroy mankind and therefore about the other ships
