Thank You for your replies. I cut out two boards placed them on each side of the mold then straped it down with rubber bands, but I didnt strap it too tight as i understand this can warp the mold. I thought that my mold was faulty, that I somehow failed to make the mold close properly allowing the resin to spill, but i did get a good part of my sculpt casted. This leads me to think that maybe I didnt apply enough pressure to close it properly.
