how much ya wanna bet it will lag, cause issues and be a wreck online since its not made for the new gens.
and why spend 500 to play Xbx games when most already own one.
then as a person who plays fighting games, why spend money on new sticks for the new console when i have everything already working on the old ones.

I think it will be fine, when the 360 first came out people still played games like Halo 2 online, and had no problems. And that was on much older servers and hardware, so I really do not see a problem.
As far as Spending $$ on a new system that's and easy answer. 1. You can not play the new games on the old console. 2. You just opened up space on your TV/ Entertainment center. You now have One system that can play anything you own from that company. So now you don't have to keep your 360 or PS3 around when you want to play older games.

I agree they both should have had it from the start.

I didn't actually read the article so forgive me if it's in there, but I wonder if this will allow cross system play/chat between the 1 and 360

space isn't the issue, the issue all the money put into a 360 for me with custom arcade sticks and set up for fighting games, when i can't use those items on a One system, but if i buy the system, sure i can use the game but all the stuff i have to buy again and update. not worth it now while the 360 still has lots of life left yet for me.

It would be great if I could re-download all the digital stuff I invested in from XBLA on the 360.
Basically anything I couldn't buy on a disc.

backwards compatibility never really seemed like a real issue for me, i'm buying a new system to play new games, not my old ones. the only time I would really care is for the few rare instances where a game isn't coming to next gen (south park is a good example). i'd much rather see cross system chat get added as I still have a few friends that haven't made the switch and it'd be nice to chat with them sometimes

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Why do I have a feeling it will brick the console trying to do this? I agree with others that this should have been on the console from the beginning. I probably won't use it because all of my saves are already on my 360 so I don't care at this point.
The main update I really want is Netflix party. I used it with my boyfriend to watch movies all the time and they never bought it back. The new generation consoles are more then capable to handle the Netflix party feature now
