Every other artist we approached was friendly and happily obliged.
I hear you on Renee. She hovers like a hawk. Took my Stan Sakai Usagi Yojimbo benefit book to James O'Barr at a con to sign. She jumps over to us and says I have to pay for a signature. James was awesome - he says this is a benefit for Stan, we can make an exception. Golden has been friendly and approachable every time I've seen him, but Renee is always there lurking in the background. It's enough to put me off and not approach any of her artists anymore.

I was at a show this weekend where I met Michael Golden and he was awesome. Nice guy we chatted comics and mostly Micronauts. Renee was right there which wasn't a big deal as I was buying a sketch anyway. Got a awesome full-page headshot of Commander Rann and had a great experience, it might have been different had I not wanted to buy something. On another note Suydam was at the same con and his tables though massive were mostly empty every time I walked by. Couldn't happen to a nicer douche. Even Golden commented that is why he was at the opposite end of the room to stay away from a copier.

I dislike this guy's art. The douche bag is way overrated!

He charged $ 150 for a head shot, which I got . It was a FULL head shot inked and took up the full page. Totally worth it.
Head shot: $150 inked
Torso: $250 inked
Full Figure: $350 inked
I want to get more done .

not for the quality . He took forever to do my picture. (4 hours) but I understand he was interrupted by others. It was worth the wait.

I only read the first two pages of this thread but I still don't understand why you wouldn't just move his stuff from your table and put your stuff there. He isn't a big man. If he gets bullying you just slap his mouth.
