They still stayed true to the spirit.
Agreed. I LOVED Hardy Bane for the movie. He crushed it. Believe it or not an oversized luchador may not have translated well to a live action film.

Hardy Bane was good for that franchise. It was a cool take on a realistic Bane. It's not something that would work for a legitimate Batman though. I don't believe for a second that Hardy Bane would be able to beat Affleck's Batman or even anyone with legitimate fighting skills.

Yea I think Hardy was great. I always say that Bale's was more of a "real world" take on the Dark Knight.

Affleck's is more of a "comic book world" Dark Knight. Both are great at what they do and I really like them both. Despite my early misgivings about Affleck he really did impress me.

The Dark Knight series trilogy is the godfather of comic book movies.

Writing was top notch.
Acting was top knotch.
Effects were top knotch.
Characters were top knotch.
Casting was top knotch.

Cillian, Leam, Heath, and Tom were all incredible choices.

my only issue with hardy bane is that in the end he was basically just talia's pawn. bane is no ones pawn.

Yea I love those films. Don't forget Hans Zimmer and James Newtown Howard's score(s) were amazing.

Try to change your perspective that they were in alliance. I believe that's probably more along the lines of what the writing tried to achieve. He loved her and protected her.

My apologies! An absolute oversight on my part. Another example of perfect casting.

I was also a fan of Oldman's Gordon.
