I think Prime 1 dropped the ball with their "G1" line.

Both XM and IA have done a better job.

100%. I'm debating jumping on the IA line. Prime 1 line is one of their weakest showings

Right now the xm transformer line is absolutely the superior one And IA isn't far behind.

The "bayformers" are nice but people really want the G1 characters done correctly. The xm line proves that they can be modernized but the essence must be maintained. The IA transformers are basically as close to the cartoon as can be done.

Prime 1 has a new line of transformers that they haven't really shown anything from just yet only art work.

As much as I would really like to see P1 go all in for generation 1 transformers, I don't think the sales demand for Optimus or Megatron would warrant that investment by them on the statues they released. Again, I want them to but I think they also have some licensing restrictions on where they can sell these directly.

And regarding this Ultra Magnus again? Weak repaint. Sorry P1. Not Ultra Magnus.

I know it would hurt but they really need to start the line again. Those Josh Nizzi designs just don't resonate with the fans.

Transformer fans really only collect the toys, and they're into transforming them. I think Prime 1 did well despite the odds in this difficult market.

I think the problem that Prime 1 has relates to the license. I believe they have it for the Nizzi designs because of the partnership with Sideshow. If you try and order these directly from Prime 1 to the US it will not allow checkout for shipment here. So something is afoot dear Watson.

It took a little time for me to warm up to the Nizzi designs but now I fully appreciate the blend of modernism to my childhood characters. I almost missed out on the Exclusive for Megatron but thanks to luck and timing for the Waitlist, it looks like he might be finally coming home.

For anyone on the fence on real Optimus or Megatron in the US, currently there is no Prime 1 direct option for you. Just some food for thought.
