Gentle Giant - The Walking Dead - Michonne 1/4

Finally got off my butt and took some photo's of Michonne out in the nature. I have some learning to do on how to blend statue scale with background, as some of the shots have that green screen look.

Some good pictures there. Looks close to real!
Her skin looks totally spot on.

Gentle Giant did an amazing job. Would be good to see more 1/4 TWD from them in the future.

Any reason why Gentle Giant's 1/4-scale statues seem to be going for cheap on eBay? I've seen them in person, and they look pretty good. Only thing that gives me pause is the use of transparent bases.

It’s not for a lack of quality, just a result of what happens when a line is abandoned.

Alas, that's too bad.

I paid around 329 not including taxes on Bigbadtoystore for Michonne. Rick was about 400 at retail when I got him and Merle was super low on sale on BBTS at 218 at one time. I say you paid a bit more on eBay for these but overall they are cheap compared to comic pieces.

Gentle Giant picked the wrong license. While The Walking Dead maybe a top rated show, “fans” of the show are casual fans and very few are interested in high-priced collectibles. Both the Captain American and Black Widow statues of the same scale sold well. But outside Maggie, I think the rest of TWD line were all deeply discounted due to slow sales.

I would love some high-end Game of Thrones collectibles, but I think there is the same casual fan issue and they would not sell well.
