My issuing agency only allows three unfortunately.
SW Shield
Sig P229
Colt 380

Have to live fire qualify for each one.

I do have permits in other states where you can CCW whatever is registered to you.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Great choices. I have a p238 and 250. Sig are great. I've heard good things about the shield. 40 S&W right? In my state just have to renew it every 5 years. Pending background check n such.

I went with 9mm at the time, 40 came later.
Very popular for CCW, quite thin.

I have to renew every 2 years in my resident state.
It was previously a tough county to get issued
but thankfully the Sheriff loosened up, my Curio and Relic FFL03 collectors license helped to justify.

I say that living in an authoritarian, anti-2A state, I done what I can to exercise my 2A rights despite the unconstitutional limitations.

My preferred semi-auto pistol is my Sig P226 9mm although my modified Glock 17 is also a good shooter. I seemed to shoot better with heavier pistols.

I like pistol caliber rifles. My favorite is a customized CZ Scorpion carbine (sadly forced to use a featureless grip). My Henry Big Boy Carbine chambered in 357 magnum is also fun at the range. There is just something cathartic using a lever action rifle.

Oddities I own are a Chiappa Rhino 300DS 357 magnum and a single action revolver Ruger NewVaquero chamber in 45LC or 45ACP.

I think with the Henrys its the 1 shot reload approach. Knowing there is a bit of work between shots you concentrate a bit harder. Fun gun for sure in all kinds of calibers.
Impressive collection. How does the rhino shoot?

I love my 6" barrel Rhino 60DS. One of my favorite things to shoot. Very accurate and not a lot of muzzle rise due to the design.

I agree with Jeremy. My 30DS is accurate for a 3 inch barrel. Me on the other hand. I'm pretty good single action, but I'm for $#!+ double action as trigger pull in DA mode is really heavy.

Definitely a unique shooting experience. After 50 rounds of 357 magnum, your palm with be sore as it directs the recoil back to your hand instead of flipping.

I bought the 30DS in Hunter Green that comes with the wood grip and fiber optic sights. I haven't bothered with the moon clips as the notch in the casing varies brand to brand and the LAX ammo I used the diameter is too small and some of the rounds fall out. When I go the range I use the Speed Beez speedloader and loading tray.

Here's the Henry Big Boy. I like to do some customization where I can. I removed the semi-buckhorn sight and install a peep sight from Skinner. Cover from gunstockcover.com which included the lever wrap.

It's a good thing that I didn't order the stock cover with the ammo loops. In Commifornia, transporting a fire with ammo "attached" is considered "loaded" and illegal. So best just not to the have the loops.

Edit: That’s a nice gun anyway.
