Wow they definitely messed up there. I wonder if you could trade her with Kotobukiya for another one

This guy has video where he says his looks good to him and not as bad as others seem to, though the skin does still have some gloss.
But he says his is free from things other people's have shown: "cuts in the hair not appearing in the right place and the wrong eye color and alignment and downright super blocky plastic red garb."

Sad to see the continued cheapening on the materials that Kotobukiya is using. This one should have been a slam dunk but they cheaped out again. Suspect this will be the last burn for many of their customers.

I went ahead and gave Mai her "corrected" skin finish - not surprisingly, it's a vast improvement over the factory skin gloss finish, and I'm much happier with her overall now. Basically, I masked off everything but her skin, hair, and the rope part of her costume - it had a gloss finish as well, which is all kinds of wrong for rope. I used a Mr. Color flat clear finish, applied with an airbrush, and did some smoothing on her skin with a fine emery cloth afterwards. Ironically, her face actually does have the correct flat skin finish, in contrast to the rest of her body, so I didn't need to do anything there. Here are the after pics:

Maybe the plastic on her body did not cure properly causing an unintentional shine.
