Yea I saw that, they have a habit of doing that now when pieces arrive, they jacked up the hulkbuster by 1K.

Finally got to unpack her today, pretty happy with her, I still think the portrait looks like a teenager Scarlet instead of the movie Scarlet. I compared a little to the Iron Studios version.

Good review!

I've been a little torn on this lately. I have it fully paid off, save for the shipping. I've seriously been questioning whether it's worth throwing another couple hundred $ at, or if I should eat the deposit and get 2/3 of that ~ $800 back.

Like you, I think the IS has the better looking portrait- at least, certainly out of the box (and at the same time, think the base is a mess too).
However I think it's almost all in the factory paints that are letting the Queen portrait down.

I look at how shadows reveal the form in a pic like this from schachi08, and the sculpt seems to be on point- though yes, de-aged.
The shadowing is also obscuring the eyes a bit, which is where the factory paint with this probably has the most issues.

She looks good in your vid too- much better than most of those initial in-hand pics.
A more studied paint job (maybe even real lashes?) would do wonders on the likeness. Even the Gentle Giant was improved quite a bit with that repaint.

Congrats on getting a good sample ...and on being able to house a life-size K2SO

I am still waiting for my black version and while the headsculpt may not be perfect, it is close enough for me at that price point. I am anxious to see it in hand though (for my final judgment).

Still waiting on mine too. Spec estimates by the end of this month on their website. It's driving me nuts.

I disagree, I have seen this piece in the flesh, and I've viewed it from every angle and in varied light conditions - this is one of the best factory portrait paint apps I've ever seen coming out of a Chinese factory.

That said, nobody is going to confuse this portrait with Scar Jo, but I can't fault the paint apps - in my opinion, these are one of those pieces that leaves me wondering if we need the "benefits" of silicone. As I understand it, this is pretty typical for Queen Studios polystone pieces.

I think it's the sculpt itself. I know that paint apps can definitely obscure detail, if applied poorly, but in this case - I can't imagine anything paint related alone could make this resemble Scar Jo.

I think, in spite of it failing to deliver a Scar Jo likeness, it's a very nice piece - The IS comes far closer to delivering the Scar Jo likeness, but I don't believe the IS paint apps to be on par with Queen. So, if I was going to start a repaint project, I'd use the IS sculpt as the basis, not the Queen.

Why is it the picture posted by BigMo appears to feature BW looking upwards,
and the picture you posted appears to show BW looking less upwards / more forwards ?

IF QS had got the eye's on point, they would have had an out and out grail on their (collectors) hands.

It's the camera angle relative to the face. The photo you're referencing has been taken directly in her line of sight, while the other photo hasn't.

That's one weird optical illusion, as the piece looks better with the portrait appearing to look less upwards.

For the black version, can someone just take a straight on picture (so I can see how high the head is raised)? Most of the pics are taken overhead to get the entire face. i am beginning to think the looking up view is not going to work in my display.
