Babylon (2022) - A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

This is an overlong, indulgent spectacle and often quite funny, but a little hollow at its center. Was that the intended message? Hmm... 6/10

Had this come out now, it would look quite different, and the politics of today would be rammed into it.

Cocaine Bear - 6/10
This was surprisingly entertaining. The 10 year old in me found it amusing.

RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) (2022) - A fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their journey away from home before they started fighting for their country in the 1920s.

Like I said earlier in the RRR thread, I attended a screening to watch the movie again, this time in its original Telugu language which isn't available on Netflix. It was a wonderful experience in a theater full of enthusiastic patrons cheering and applauding. 10/10

Shazam II: Fury of The Gods 7/10,

It was an average super hero flick.

Turning Red (2022) - A 13-year-old girl named Meilin turns into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited.

The embarrassment the main character suffers experiencing puberty was laugh-out-loud funny. 7/10

It was Saturday night at a dine-in theater so alcohol being served made the screening even better!

Women Talking (2022) - Do nothing, stay and fight, or leave. In 2010, the women of an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling a brutal reality with their faith.

This is one of those movie titles that succinctly describes what the movie is exactly about--like Snakes on a Plane. It's expertly directed by Sarah Polley whose movies I've all liked. Very sad to find out that it's based on real events in a remote settlement in Bolivia. 8/10

always been my favorite indy movie, it really should have been the last crusade...

indiana jones and the crystal skull - 2/10
