The Strangers Chapter 1 - 5/10
I thought this was supposed to be a prequel to the original film. In actuality, it ended up being mostly a plain remake of the original film with a few minor changes to the location and characters.

Saw Madame Web on Netflix - 6/10
Better story telling ...Better character building ...Better action scenes would've helped this movie.

Lola Montes (1955) - When she is reduced to appearing in a circus, a notorious beauty thinks back on her past loves.
I didn't realize that this was a biopic until after a recent trip to Bavaria. It's beautifully shot and the restored version I watched looked fantastic. 7.5/10

Furiosa (Mad Max) - 7/10. Disappointed that I could not get fully engaged. Of course, it is going to be derivative of the previous MM films, but those parts in Furiosa left me contemplating the next plot point.
Dune 2 holds as my favorite theatrical release of 2024.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - 8/10 - More ridiculous fun
The Marvels - 6/10 - A rather "blah" MCU entry. I would've given it a lower score but the large Flerken presence gave it a boost

Furiosa -9/10
A worthy addition to Fury Road and Miller knows how to shoot action. All in frame making the chaos coherent and awe inspiring. Some amazing tension and devastating moments in the unforgiving wasteland.
I really hope we get another for a modern trilogy of this world.

The trailer looked exactly identical to the first film. Why on earth did they think that would be a good idea to make? I couldn't believe they put this movie out.
