James Arness as The Thing from Another Planet?

I've seen so many talented creators here, and wondered how I would go about getting either a bust or statue made for my father? Perhaps others would be interested in something like this as well. Since the film was black and white, I would probably want it that way.

I own the dvd it`s a great movie and I know i`ve seen a kit/bust of this but I don`t remember where.

I also remember seeing a bust kit. Can't remember off the top of my head who put it out.

I found a cold-cast 1/4 bust by Dark Carnival .. Pretty nice. I might have to get my dad one.

That was the bust I was thinking of.

Just so you know the bust is a model kit. It's unbuilt and unpainted.

I see .. I'm not the artistic type, so I guess I'd need to pay someone here to assemble/paint the guy .. Any suggestions?

Best kit of the Thing is from a company called Billiken. They put out a soft vinyl kit is the 80,s of this guy. Great piece..

Great looking kit. X-O Facto has one without the base.


As for getting the kits built / painted, I'm just getting into the hobby myself and it takes patience and time to get them built up just right.

I'm sure if you go over to the sculptor / painter forums you can find somebody.
