Horrific, deeply, deeply unsettling, but so wonderfully done. Follows the true events surrounding Australia's worst ever serial killer in 1999. I remember this like it was yesterday, andit's just as chilling now as it was then.

The Dead - 8.5/10

Wow, what a gem. Easily the best zombie film in years. Its unsettling, heavy on atmosphere and offers a believable and incredibly unique setting for what many might consider a tired or overexposed sungenre. At it's core its a tale of survival. The narrative is a bit linear but it works so well here that my attention never wavered. I was on the edge of my seat throughout due to the underlying sense of tension. The zombies themselves are amazing, and they're everywhere. Their look, movements and the overall tone of the film is a throwback of sorts to the best of Romero's offerings. Its refreshing to see a completely serious zombie film, devoid of any cheesy moments that hits all the aspects that fans of this subgenre love. A must see for zombie fans!!

Need to see this. Is this the one that takes place in Africa?

I love the quote on the bottom of the poster:

"Best Zombie movie of the year"

It really speaks to the current state of affairs of zombie movies. There was a time not too long ago, where we would go years without a zombie movie. Now, we get enough in a year, that we can actually declare one "best of the year"!

If the Special Features pan out, I'll probably blind buy this when it hits BD. "Unique" zombie fare? Sign me up!

I suck.. I still haven't made time for Rob Roy.

.. there's a commentary and a BTS (and other features), and the reviews I just read of both more than merit the purchase.
