Well I finally bought a couple HD-A2 players. Still haven't bought any HD-DVDs but I plan on changing that soon.

upconverted DVD is not the same as HDDVD...although the quality of the DVD does look better, its nowhere near the quality and especially the sound of HDDVD.

Hey guys!!! I finally get to post in this thread. Winded up purchasing an A2 a few weeks back (w/ that secret Walmart sale price) along with Batman Begins & Goodfellas for my first movies. Then this weekend, I hit MovieShop (the nationwide chain store owned by Gamestop) and picked up 3 movies for $40. I got Superman Returns, Mission Impossible 3, & King Kong.

Add Dukes Of Hazzard (Jessica Simpson looks great in HD) and Miami Vice on HDDVD for $10.99 each.

Man HD DVD needs to get their act together and start offering some sale prices on new releases and more BOGOs. Blu-ray is just killing them in this department. No wonder they're being outsold 3 to 1.

Speaking of new releases I was unable to locate the new 5 disc Blade Runner on HD DVD today at Fry's. Seems it didn't ship but the BD version did.

Also do you guys know of any retail deals on the Bourne Ultimatum? It seems to be $30 everywhere I check which IMO is to much. You'd think being a new release there would be some deals to be had on this title. Disappointing.

Amazon is asking $26.95 which is a little better I suppose. Unfortunately I can't take advantage of any discounts from buying all 3 at once as I already own the first two.
