That's a lot of money for 5 pieces of Acrylic cemented together.

The prices get exponentially more expensive the larger the cover. Some of my smaller covers were under $100 (thinner acrylic and easier to assemble).

Do they assemble the glass cube for you? If I'm getting a custom table made is there a measurement that the cube should be smaller than the table?

I have the cover made first and give them outside dimensions (and yes, they do the assembly). Then after I get the cover, I re-measure it again before building the table. I add 1/8 inch to the cover width and length dimensions as I don't want a fit that is too tight.

So if the case is 24 by 30 inches, the table would be cut to 24 and 1/8 by 30 and 1/8

It also might be a good idea to get a case that is within the standard wood sizes so you don't have to buy a huge sheet to cut. For example it may make more sense to get a case that is 23 and 7/8 by 29 and 7/8 inches then the table can be an even 24 by 30 inches.

Another option, if your case is really high and you want to save some money, is to have a case that is only the 4 sides. You would then make a "table" with maybe 1/4" or 1/2" particle board and trim that fits over the top with LED lighting on the inside.

With my Predator case (below), I had to make a separate table that another table base would rest on. I had to do this because the figure would be too high for me to get the acrylic cover over. I used dowels to line them up so the display couldn't get pumped off the table by accident. I then assembled the Wolf on the base as it rested on the floor. I put the case over it then lifted the entire thing onto the table so the dowels slid into their holes. The table is slightly smaller than the base and the edges were laminated with black laminant so you can't really see it.

I'm looking to get something like that for the upcoming Red Sonja, but I cannot really find anyone who make it large enough or if they do it's double the price you quoted there. I am in the EU and so international shipping with not really be viable for a large display box.
