Shae said it herself -- she's a wh**e. She will do whatever the highest bidder wants PLUS she was scorned by the man who she loved. Tywin is the big bad Lannister and clearly has something over her but it couldn't have been hard to get her to lie out of spite.
Tyrion is the MAN! Loved when be turns to the on-lookers and says he would poison them all and called it to the world that he knows he's on trial for their bigotry.
Wonder if Tywin would have held true to his promise of sending him to the wall?

Fantastic episode. It left me wanting more. Felt like the time flew by. I loved the effects of the dragon taking the goat. I've been looking forward to Tyrion's trail and it hasn't disappointed. The one part that got me was Varys. It was the first time I disliked him. I thought he was an honorable man and he proved he wasn't. I was also a little surprised at Shea. How she perceived Tyrion after he threw her out is terrible but killing him for it seemed hash.

I have absolutely no idea what will happen to Tyrion, but that final scene of the trial was superb. I could feel all the accumulated venom of Tyrion's life - Dinklage does it again.

Excellent episode. I'd forgotten the first story arc of the episode as it had been so long since she set off on her quest to find her brother.

I think he would have, like Jaime said Tywin isn't Joffrey. he's a cold hearted jerk but he is at his core an honorable man. but with that said considering the fix was already in the whole Shae part seemed pointless on every level aside from just wanting to really make Tyrion feel even worse about his life

he did nothing to him, he convinced dishonorable men to do it, a fine line but a difference non the less. I mean Tywin didn't offer him guest rights now did he
