Because, that other companies are being much more creative with designs is not just speculation, it's a fact. And all companies end up answering to DC/Marvel, so either Sideshow is the one slacking with art direction and using licensors as a scapegoat, or the licensor is playing dirty by hindering Sideshow's designs while closing an eye for every other licensee.

Well, yes. We might compare a certain Jean Grey and see which one has the most creative design, just to mention the first on top of my head. Probably the Marvel approval guy has some personal agenda against Sideshow.
