I would doubt it. Although the Mets are in Queens. Is the population there for 3 teams at present.

No they wouldn't have. With the departure of both those teams (Dodgers, Giants) NY no longer had a representative in the National League. New York had always been a National League town up till the late 90's.
The METS were brought in to represent NY in the National League. I'm pretty sure all the old Brooklyn fans went to the METS since there was a serious hatred toward the Yankees. Not sure how they Giants fan base split on this one. Although back then there was always the Mays vs. Mantle debate.

I'm a hater and I'm right here. Tonight we'll have a 2-2 series. Blanton might not get the win, but the Phils will.
Go Phils & Go Eagles!!!!!!

Upper NY City Near Harlem.
Along Eighth Avenue, Harlem River Drive, West 159th St.
The Mets played there for 2 years while shea stadium was being built.

I have a feeling ur right. With Hammels struggles continuing I just don't see where the phils can turn to.
CC vs. Blanton is in the Yanks favor. The only hope the Phils have is if the short rest factor backfires on Girardi.
