Okay. I'm going to rant a bit, here, because here's about the only place I can grouse about this without running into the hetero stubbornness.

What the heck is up with artists and sculptors making Kara Zor-El/Supergirl look sexy and all porn-starish? I mean, I can see where she might be a -fantasy- for a lot of straight men (although, if I was picking superheroines to date/shtupp, Kara would a: be too young for that to be legal and b: Diana, Donna, or Dinah are way hotter.) When I browse an artist's commissions (usually trying to determine where my next is coming from), I always die a little when I see they've got Kara in her panties, or making out with Batgirl, or humping Power Girl's leg...you get the idea. (And yes, I realize that's usually what the fanboys have requested, but it's sort of skanky to have it up as part of your portfolio....)
Maybe it's just me, but I really feel like that sort of disrespects the character that Otto Binder created all those years ago.
I also don't understand the gay guys who get their favorite male characters either mostly-naked or in some sort of slashy pose. (Actually...I can kind of understand that. But I wouldn't go for anything trashy, like some of the things I've seen.)

I feel the same Doug, I hate when people take characters that I have loved my entire life, and then see them in ways that are so out of character for them... my partner has a photo on his phone of Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern, they have no pants on and these huge... well you know... he loves to show it to people and it just makes me cringe everytime he does... its just seems so disrespectful to those characters, and my memory of them... and i am not against the pics of the naked guys, just don't have them dressed up as my heroes.. if you want porn, the get porn with porn stars... leave the characters that we all love the way they are supposed to be, not all slutty and trampy...

Well I just got a call from the company that I was interviewing with the other day. They gave the position to someone else... uuuugggghhhh... it would have been so much more money than what I am making at my current job... oh well... something else will come up...
