Well, I love these pieces.....and I'm shocked that I do.

I've never been overly enthusiastic about Anime figures....but I must admit, the aesthetics of them are growing on me....and just in time it seems, as more and more statue companies seem to be jumping into this genre with these larger scale figures....

Uh oh, careful Silas, once you step down the anime statue path, forever it may dominate your destiny.

For sure, it's always the way

I've even thought about consuming the supporting media (books & animation).....not sure how long I can hold out

Reminds me of Chun Li

I have no idea about this license but this could be altered to a Chun Li custom?

Yeah it might not make for a bad custom

That's a cool one. For Chun, you'd have to thicken up those thighs quite a bit

Why do you say it's awful as a Batman statue? I think you're missing the point - customers (either gay men or, as SDguy suggested, sassy women) buying this stuff want primarily a beefcake version of their comic-book hero.

Is it easy to see it's supposed to be Batman? Yes, there's a huge unmistakable Batman logo on his chest and a cape, not to mention it also comes with an alternate cowled portrait - I didn't post it here because I was simply interested in showing the skills of this sculptor when it comes to likenesses.

As for it being "nothing special as a male nude statue", well, even as a straight guy I'd say it's a... er... fine specimen of a man, and quite a sexy laidback pose on a cool bike if you're into that. Certainly classier than those Thanos and Hulk statues we recently saw.

Geez, talk about high standards.

So yeah, of course the market is obviously gay male nerds, mainly. And maybe some "liberated" women too, I guess.

But hey, enough of this genre of "sexy creatures" (literally), let's get this thread back on track.

Not a statue, but I'm sure this checks several boxes for many here.

This is the first DamToys figure I have seen when the clothing looks cheaply made.

DamToys today is nothing like it used to be, IMO.

The modern military line from Damtoys is still rated as the best that money can buy.....right alongside DiD (Dragon in Dream) who hold that honour for WWII figures.

This Gangster Kingdom line has always been a side quest for Damtoys - like their range of 1/7 scale Anime style figures - After School Arena.
