Just finished watching the 50th anniversary episode. I won't give spoilers here but I will say that fans, long time & recent, will enjoy it.

Good to hear. Since yesterday, I've been plowing through the past 7 seasons courtesy of the BBCA marathon. I'll get as much as I can out of the way and watch the anniversary episode late tonight.
I had forgotten just how often the 1st series mentioned the Time War. Here's hoping it'll tie together.

oh man that was awesome! I've got lots of questions, but I'd better just think about it for a while, probably watch it again.

I really liked it, thought it was a really great way to get the doctors working together and had a lot of fun moments. Definitely an enjoyable watch.

I enjoyed it, a few lose ends such as where did the treaty talks go etc but over all it was great. Nice to see Tennant back as well.

I enjoyed it a lot for what it was. Horrendous amount of questions I have with regards to what it's done to past plot lines and what this means for the future and the Doctor's torment in general etc etc....
A quick thought though for those who have seen the episode, does this mean that we're now now left with a "Quantum Leap" type ending? lol!

I agree - it's a shame they didn't include McGann and Eccleston, especially since they bookend John Hurt's "War Doctor".
Actually, McGann has really gotten the shaft since the show restarted in 2005. They've had all kinds of opportunities to include him, and instead we get a mini episode.
Still, here's the prequel to The Day of The Doctor - very nicely done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U3jrS-uhuo
