It's awesome. We recently bought the Essential Universal monsters box set on bluray. We'll be introducing them to the classics over the x-mas holiday.

I introduced my7 yr old granddaughter to JP a couple of weeks ago. She enjoyed it but don't think she understood the whole DNA thing nor what the programmer Dennis was doing to steal it. I was afraid she would be scared but turns out she was totally fine with it.

Her (2014) - 9/10
A very understated science fiction movie written and directed by Spike Jonze. Joaquin Phoenix plays a man who falls in love with the intelligent operating system of his computer, which leads him to reevaluate his relationships with people.

Foxcatcher - 8/10
A true story about two bothers training for the '88 US Olympic Wrestling team. The movie provides a fascinating look into competitive wrestling. It's a slow burn but overall a compelling movie with a truly standout performance from Steve Carell. I wouldn't be surprised if he is nominated for a Golden Globe or Oscar.

The Theory Of Everything (2014) - A look at the relationship between the famous physicist Stephen Hawking and his wife.
I don't know much about Stephen Hawking's personal life so this being a sad romance surprised me. 8/10

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010) - 6.5/10
I'm a HUGE fan of movies that feature little creatures or monsters ( Critters, Gremlins, etc.). So I figured this movie would be right up my alley, and it was, kind of. It lacked the comedy element that similar movies from the 80's had, and is more a straight forward horror movie. Also wish it had utilized practical effects/puppets, another thing that makes those older little creature features so great IMO. But overall pretty good.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - 6/10
A very interesting story, but too over the top even for the situations described. Also, did it really need to be 3 hours?
