The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) - The spoiled young heir to the decaying Amberson fortune comes between his widowed mother and the man she has always loved.

It's a shame the original cut no longer exists, but the edited version is still very good. 8/10

American Sniper (2015) starring Bradly Cooper in a bio picture about Navy Seal sniper during the Iraq War. Directed by Clint Eastwood. What should have been an interesting story ended up being a bit of a bore. 5.5/10

Divergent - 4/10

Pretty shallow stuff here. Hard to believe this is actually based on a series of books. It spends more time setting up a world and characters that frankly, just aren't that interesting, than it does on the making an entertaining film. Plays much like The Hunger Games only not as interesting, and that's saying a lot because that series is pretty bad too.

Managed to catch up on the backlog of films recently

Guardians of the galaxy 8/10 really enjoyed it, great humour and awesome soundtrack!

Edge of tomorrow 9/10 possibly film of the (last) year for me!

Hobbit desolation of smaug 7/10 love lotr but I must admit I was a tad disappointed

The wolverine 4/10 just awful

Captain America winter soldier 9/10 not a huge fan of the first one but this was amazing! Fight scenes are brutal!

Amazing spiderman 2 7/10 another solid installment shaping up to be much better then the first trilogy.

dawn of the planet of the apes 8.5/10 quite different from what I was expecting but in a good way.

Watching grand Budapest hotel tonight

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The Babadook (2014) - A single mother, plagued by the violent death of her husband, battles with her son's fear of a monster lurking in the house, but soon discovers a sinister presence all around her.

I expected to like this more after reading all the great reviews. Maybe it's because I'm not much of a horror fan. 6/10

The Equalizer - 7/10

Denzel Washington's acting & Antoine Fuqua's directing elevate an otherwise formulaic narrative into a rather enjoyable and violent action film. Washington is simply the best actor in the biz today for my money. Films like these really play to his strengths too. Nobody does the vigilante with the calm/cool demeanor as well as he does. Not sure if this film was successful enough to warrant the franchise they were probably hoping for but if by chance it was, I'll be there.

Inherent Vice - TBD needs a second viewing. Quite a strange film.
