Hey Cap,
Alclad is really good and about as close as you can get with paint, very bright and shiney. Shiney enough to see a bit of your reflection on it. But Paint is still paint and does not have the extreme shiney finish like real chrome metal.

Thanks D.
How about the "mirror" chrome finish that SS does in their polystone Endo heads/statues? How they do that?
cheers,
C.

Hey Carlos,
I don't own those pieces....but I would have to assume that they are actually chrome plated (like the Bowen Colossus bust).

There are companies that do this type of stuff. I understand that the piece has to be dipped in some pretty hazardous chemicals along with supplying some electric current.

There is a product called mirra-chrome which is really paint that looks
exactly like chrome, the company that produces it has several other
paints with cool effects ( not cheap ) :
Here's the link : http://www.alsacorp.com/paints.htm

I'm familar with Mirror Chrome paints, great finishes, they look incredible without the clear coat, but they are not very durable.
They still look good once you apply the speed clear, but it looses something with the protective clearcoat.
