I completely agree

No. And, there is not enough information to answer this question. Cost plays a big factor. There was a time when the A/A combinations were pretty safe but as prices rise the equation changes.

Nothing is automatic. When I set things up for a (painted) commission and risk subjecting myself to a likelihood of 1-2 years of headaches and unprofessional behavior, I always ask myself if I'll be able to sell it somewhere down the line. As my original intent is to display the painted commission for some time, resale isn't an immediate concern but it certainly is an important consideration when I first approach the artist (thinking long-term), otherwise I'd pass. It has to be a piece which looks as good or better than the artist's published works otherwise breaking even becomes an immense challenge.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you're willing to pay and how hard the artist is willing to work for a piece which won't be the cover of a comic. Communication is key with the artist.

I don't think you will ever go wrong with an Adi Granov Iron Man or anything Avengers related for that matter

I would have thought that given your years of experience you would act professional RS.
