Just because the shield is in the exact same position, and looks exactly the same, the spear is in the exact same place and looks exactly the same, the rock base is almost exactly the same, his left arm is in the exact same positioning, his head is pointing in the exact same direction, and the cape is flowing in the exact same way, why would you think that the tattoo was based on the statue? Oh, and the chestplate is the exact same way in both too.

Averone said on another forum that he has spoken to Nick and the whole team is thinking about getting matching tattoos. If I went to MSU I might get one but I wouldn't want it there or anywhere near that big.
