Punctuate the following passage:
dana where robert had had had had had had had had had had had the teachers approval
Bonus: Name the English language tense that this exercise demonstrates.
The answer has to be 100 per cent grammatically correct, there are at least eight minor variations I can think of that would be acceptable.
ANSWERS:
Dana, where Robert had had 'had', had had 'had had'. 'Had had' had had the teacher's approval.
Also acceptable with a semi-colon between the two sentences, and technically still grammatically correct with plural teachers (teachers'). Double rather than single speech marks would also have been allowed.
Bonus: This demonstrates use of the pluperfect, or past perfect, tense.
