Wow they put that much into that movie? The trailer alone made me think it was a low budget movie and something i would just wait for to on demand for free.

The title of the film is stupid, surely leaving off the "of Mars" bit is leaving out something crucial? Not saying it would make much difference to the numbers, but a film just called John Carter could literally be about anything - an unhappy tax accountant suffering with impotence, for example - but "John Carter of Mars" would put you more in mind of what to expect!

Definitely agree; "John Rambo" worked .. well.. sort of .. because everyone knows Stallone played Rambo in previous movies; you know what you're in for.

Same with "Rocky Balboa", same with "Hellboy", for sh!t's sake; obviously "Hellboy" isn't going to be a movie about the wild world of knitting.

Adding "of Mars" would've netted them $5 more million, at least. People would immediately know it's sci-fi; not everyone watches previews (let alone tv), nor has time for them.

My mom asked me why they named it after the guy from the Terminator movies.

will buy it on dvd looks fun enough decent reviews, I only go see so many movies in theatres and this will probably not make the cut.
