nope. i believe the first three were like this. the upcoming holiday cody bust is the first to be offered in this manner.

Maybe I'm just not fimuliar with they way things were them. Are you saying the chrome Sandtrooper was something other than Gift, or Holiday bust like Cody? Sorry, I just don't know much about GG back in those days.

correct. the first few were only given as gifts to ppl who were considered "special friends" of gentle giant. philip@rebelscum.com, some retailers, and other contacts. they were never meant to be sold to the public.
