There also are some terrific panels that I interpret to be Bill Watterson “Calvin & Hobbes” tribute panels.

I think this is a great call-out. This is probably the first thing that really struck me about the issue. It is more than the snowmen scenes (which were great Calvin and Hobbes trademarks). The loose line style and the tones used in the coloring were all reflective of Watterson. This was the first book I actually got to read this week and I put it on the top of the stack based on your pick of the week.

Right! The snow men are just the most obvious but you're absolutely right about Buckingham's line work and how he depicted the fluidity of motion and other elements in those memory sequences. The cartoony nature was perfect for Peter's semi-romaniticized memories of his childhood in these segments.
I'm glad my review steered you to this comic book. It was such a delightful and surprising treat for me!

I called my LCS guy yesterday and asked him to hold a copy of OMAC for me. I didn't see it in the store and so I missed it. When I went in today he told me he'd sold out as he handed my copy to me. Whew! In under the wire.
I really liked this book, much better than Countdown. No reference to the Kirby OMAC and I'm not even sure what "OMAC" means. But, like Sam, I'll be sticking around for this one. It was a pleasant surprise, and always good to see someone seemingly get the upper hand on Batman.

You're both definitely right (how's that for a statement with confidence?)! Batman's been in desperate straights before, but no one can out think and out maneuver him for long.
