When selling on ebay internationally, always ship express mail with the full value declared no matter what the buyer says. I've had plenty of buyers ask me to ship priority and to mark the item as a gift. The problem is that as a seller you are setting yourself up to possibly be ripped off. The only way you are covered is by having tracking and proof of delivery.

I hear in Australia, they use kangaroos. Ya know, 'cause of those handy pouches...

USPS Express mail is NOT an acceptable shipping method according to Paypal. Their tracking is only good up to the point where customs accepts the package, NOT to the final address, which means Paypal won't accept it as proof of delivery. I've spoken with Paypal about this on numerous occassions just to make sure I wasn't getting the incorrect info from a goofy phone rep and every person told me the same thing.

UPS and Fedex, which are privately owned and handle the package all the way to the recipients door are the only means by which you should send something internationally (if you don't know the person).

Interesting. I've never had an issue with express mail but I had plenty with priority mail.

I use USPS Priority International, and have never had an issue.
If I recall you can take the number from the customs form and the postal carrier can look it up, but I do not think it can be used on-line.

If I'm buying from the US I insist on Globel Express which offers insurance and tracking. That way both the buyer and seller are covered. Always ship with tracking no matter where you are shipping. This could just as easily happen with domestic shipping as there is no proof of delivery unless you pay for it.

When I was selling a Hulk statue, I got a ton of e-mails from international people asking me if I would ship to them and I would also say the same thing about shipping value of statue. That would usually scare them away. I was not setting myself up, that's for sure.
