just in regards to hobbit or to LOTR as well?
I love the hobbit films but only because of the visual storytelling, the acting and narrative is great too. Yeah they aren't doing the greatest job making the story as captivating as the book, but hardly any movies do.

That article was just under the pretense of LOTR.

I think the Hobbit would have a better story if they'd limited it with two films as it's originally intended. But it's money before story as usual.

I thought Peter Jackson did an excellent job bringing this to the screen. I'm curious what do you find dissapointing?

I've enjoyed the first two movies. Having not read the book has probably helped.

I was more disappointed with Desolation of Smaug. All that stuff with Smaug in the end was never in the book and I thought it was way overdone. Didn't like how they portrayed Bard. Bard was the leader of Laketown and they made him look more like a villain/untrusted member of the city. Don't like how they are building up the "big crossbow" for taking down Smaug. Bard had his "black arrow" and it was his skill as a bowman which is being downplayed. Laketown was never attacked. The river scene was ridiculous. The dwarves and Bilbo were trapped by the woodelves for months. Movie made it look like within a matter of hours they were able to escape. I can see stretching this into 2 movies. The Hobbit is no where near as good as the LOTR. Sort of like Star Wars Original Trilogy to the pre-quels. They just aren't as good.
