Overrated:
Nick Cage: he doesn't have facial expressions. why does everyone gush about Nick Cage? yeah yeah, deadpan, i get it, but act human for f***'s sake!
Daniel Radcliffe: aka Harry Potter. shut UP already!
Underrated:
Tim Spall: SO talented! and yet most people only know him as Wormtail from Harry Potter. Go watch All or Nothing, or Rock Star, or Sweeney Todd!
Brad Dourif: i'm convinced this guy can do anything.

Overrated:
Larry the Cable Guy: has the world gone mad??? HOW many times can "git 'er dooooooooonnnnnnnne" be funny??? actually i didn't find it funny the first time.
and while we're at it...
The Whole Blue Collar Comedy Tour except for Ron White, who is actually funny.
Underrated:
Gilbert Gottfried: Have you seen him doing Jerry Seinfeld as Hamlet???
Maria Bamford: her one comedy central special was funnier than every joke that Jeff Foxworthy has ever told, or will ever tell, put together.

Bands!
Overrated:
Metallica: before you start throwing eggs at me, hear me out. Revolutionary? yes. Brought metal to the mainstream? sure. Greatest Metal Band Ever? no! i mean Metallica is an exceptionally good band, but they are not the be-all-end-all of metal. most of the music is good, most of the albums are good (i never liked st. anger)... but their lyrics have never really impressed me, aside from a handful of notable songs like Enter Sandman and... i can't really think of any others. and the music itself is great but it isn't genius, i have heard better. for example....
Underrated:
Megadeth: i would never have heard of this band if it hadn't been for my boyfriend, and that isn't fair, because i think they are a better band than Metallica. their worst music at least rivals Metallica's best song. the lyrics are clever and meaningful, and even the sociopolitical stuff isn't pretentious (get a clue Green Day). it isn't fair that Dave Mustaine's brainchild will always be in Metallica's shadow.
