more to the point, DC Direct doesn't sell 5000 statues in such a small time the edition size is too large

The edition size is 5000, I think they made them all. They just sold out because it's an excellent piece.

I can confirm that the Superman bust is pretty horrible. I have a full review of it going up on Fandomania.com tonight (I'll post a link once it's posted), but here are a couple of shots in the meantime. Notice his belt, as well as his hairline. Also, check out the patchy spot on his chin and the overall quality of the piece.

I saw it at the LCS and I'm glad I did not pre-order it. The comic shop was asking $64 for this bust. The Batman mb is half way decent but I have to say I will never purchase anything from DC Direct if they're putting stuff like this out on the market. Now if DC had Randy and the other sculptors from marvel making products for DC I will buy stuff from them in a heart beat. It's ashame they don't have sculptors who make products up on the same echelon like Bowen.

I'm pretty sure they're always hiring at the Chinese factories where they actually paint these, but I've heard the wages are a little low. 
Shame about the bust though, I was hoping it'd come out nice. :/
