That's how good the pro-type looked. Likewise, while I don't own Whisper, when I got to see images of her in the clear red outfit, I assumed it was clear plastic. Only when the non red version, the grey version showed up was it obvious the outfit was resin, as there was less shine, thus the effect of clear plastic lost.

As an owner of both Whisper statues, it is obvious that the red version is made with much more care. It is as close to perfect as any statue I own.

Sounds like GG are cutting corners. Should have my Derby next week. Sure hope it's not broken, as Derby looks fragile, more so than Maggie.

I've posed the question to Dreamwalker in the "Ask GG" thread so hopefully we'll have an answer as to what the final product will actually look like.
If it's helmet only that will be a NO buy for me.

Love Derby. Really hope - as many have said - that Fireball comes with 2 heads. If it's just the helmet, then we're missing out on an awesomely beautiful profile. Personally, I'd prefer to have no frilly tutu, but it adds a certain je ne sais quois.

The use of different materials, like metal and rubber was part of the appeal for this line. Like on Whisper...she was supposed to have real metal clips, rubber hoses and rubber flippers. I would assume Derby would be the same, with metal clips etc. If they arent, they fell short on their early reasoning for the high prices on these.

My Derby arrived today. There was one small fault, one of the blue clips have broken off in
transit. I will fix this myself. The small blue clips are very fragile.

Honey Trap Derby 1/4 - Gentle Giant

She looks great. I'm impressed. Sure the shield isn't frosted, and there's no sparkle on the eye
lids (like the prototype) but everything else is spot on. It oozes quality.

10/10

Note: Photoshop desaturated the images a little during resizing. Quite why I donot know.

I used a pin-head size amount of rapid setting Araldite on each end of the blue clip. Holding it steady for 5 minutes while it sets drags. The join never fully sets until some time after.
