So, based on the ending I think the next film won't take place on earth.

"Transformed" this into the spoiler thread. It was heading in that direction anyways and I doubt this film warrants multiple threads.

Rumblings are that this is the first of a trilogy that will take the franchise to 6 films. I imagine that you are right.
My hypothesis is that the second film will see Optimus and new Autobots in space versus "the creators"/Quintesons while Galvatron wreaks havoc on earth. Third and hopefully final film see Optimus and the Autobot reinforcements come back to earth to save the planet.
Watching parts of the first film again less in your face action and exposition would totally be more at this point IMHO.

The movie actually started out much stronger than I was expecting then it got progressively dumber and duller as time went on.
Overall, I'm glad I saw it but only just. 5/10 (+ one point is just for Nicola Peltz)

This series needs some fresh blood in the directing chair.

He has always had the ability to fly; sort of like R2-D2.

I don't remember that. In the second one he got all that junk from the old Transformer and could fly for a minute, but other than that, he's been landlocked...but then again, who cares.
