What I'm hoping for: One of the modern costumes for Storm (preferably the black and white with mohawk), fully sculpted cape and done by Will Harbottle.

What we'll get: The hideously ugly Jim Lee costume, miscolored white with a cheap white fabric cape.

This one is awesome, maybe in the next cycle.

So did you not like the XM one with the sculpted cape ? Or just hate the white color look?

Looks like we will find out maybe in 3 months or so what we will get from SS in terms of PO's for the rest of the year. Since they will do some online comic con event to show stuff off.

I think we will get maybe 2-3 X-men reveals for online SDCC. Then maybe 1 X-men variant during Spooktacular. Followed by maybe one last one in the fall for NYCC online event. 12 days of sideshow if we are lucky maybe 1 last X-men reveal.

I think the next ones up are Storm/Beast/Iceman/Arch angel/Nightcrawler (less likely bishop)

Villains
Sinister/Apocalypse (Less likely pyro or omega red)

I have the XM and love the statue itself, except for the hooker heels, tornado seam and hideous Mr. T bracelets they added without telling people. But, I think the JL costume is her worst major costume, especially since every single company gets the color wrong, which makes it look even worse.

The XM does have some gray and silver tones in it, so that is the saving grace in terms of the costume itself. I just don't want another 1/4 of her in that look again.

The only way that Sideshow should do a Lee Storm is if they can ensure they can crush the XM version. And IMO, that is a VERY hard task. I also don't think SS can give you the bang for the buck that design will cost. Just give is a modern design and keep it moving.

I think the design doesn't lend itself well to having the symbol. I bet they did that just to break up all the black. Maybe they didn't want to channel the Lee version by putting two little symbols at the cape attachment?

They need to do the Jim Lee white...err I mean silver. I don't want Demona coming after me.
Excellent logic, Adee Let's hope that Sideshow feels the same.

Yep. This is the one I want too. I LOVE it. Loved it from first sight. I also liked the one before this with the crop top and pants. I might be in the minority for that one.

As for the Bianchi white suit, it's too busy for me. It looks fabulous in a comic because Bianchi is a fabulous artist. In statue, for me, that suit would be a mess.

While I bet it will never happen, I'm now hoping that Sideshow goes for Storm's current suit. It's grown on me. So much that I bought the Cover OA for X-Men Red #7 (gotta load it up to my CAF page)

Count me in on this one.

I'm praying to the gods to get this amazingly hideous costume then

BUT, using the voice of reason, there's plenty of debate on this forum regarding this x-men line. It is NOT all 90s versions. Wolverine is the newer Astonishing X-Men costume, not the 90s Lee tiger stripe. Colossus is more modern as well. Magneto is Modern I believe as he is missing his under-roos. Cable as well I don't believe is classic, but more a custom design? I don't remember Cable looking like his statue in the comics but I could be wrong I don't really read any newer stuff. Obviously X-23 is a more modern character as well. Same with Emma Frost.

Classis Lee 90s so far is Rogue (ex portrait), Juggernaut, Cyclops, Gambit, Jean Grey, Mystique, Psylocke, Sabretooth (EX portrait).

So it's a good mix. Storm could go either way it appears. If I'm a betting man since you can look at the track record, I would say Storm ends up being either a 90's Lee version, or a more modern look. Maybe when she was with Black Panther in Wakanda look. None of the previous releases show that SS would go back further than the Lee version for any inspiration so that would rule out the Byrne version which I am ok with.
Great points, but the core group appears to be mostly the 90s versions, so I'm really hoping the same for Storm.

As you mentioned lots of folks don't like this version and that's their prerogative. It was always my favorite; more dignified, less flesh showing, doesn't look like a stripper, or like someone wearing bondage gear. She's a queen and a proud black women, not someone with legs, ass, and tits hanging out. Beauty doesn't need to be displayed this way.

Jean Grey, Kitty, Jubilee and Rogue was always fully covered, why not Storm?

Well..........Rogue is fully covered for a very obvious reason. Kitty and Jubilee both started on the X-Men as younger kids, so they were drawn in certain looks to show the difference between the adults and kids. Jean rocked a short mini shift dress and high boots for years and has it on again in the new series.

Strong women can wear whatever they feel like and shouldn't be "slut shamed" for it. That applies to real life and Storm.

What are your thoughts on the current costume? It meets ALL your preferred criteria, so would you be pro-modern costume? You must agree that the (hideous) Lee suit has been done to death.
