Looks like a PS4 Slim is on the way soon. Leaked pics/info in the following article.

Slim doesn't appear to be much smaller other than height, unlike the Xbox One S compared to the giant Xbox One, so no desire to replace my Destiny version. Whew.

Yeah, won't be replacing my PS4 for a slim either. I may trade it in for the PS4 Neo once that comes out; all depends on whether the extra horsepower makes a discernible difference to the games I play.

I was always surprised how small Sony managed to design the ps4 (more so due to the fact it has an internal power supply) so it's no surprise the slim isn't much small think the design looks good though. Won't be buying, though I'll be tempted by the neo.

was it really necessary to slim it down in the first place?

its almost the exact same width and depth

I hope they release the NEO this year because I have a ton of digital purchases I havent even tried out yet... and when the slim drops... I dont think you'll be able to sell your old PS4 for that much.

Neo is officially called PS4 Pro and will be out in November. $399/£349. Specs listed in the following article:

^ The lack of an Ultra HD Blu-Ray drive like the XBOX One S is a serious blow to it's appeal to me.

Either it costs too much and should have been left out of the XBOX One S to make it far cheaper or the drive doesn't cost much and Sony should have put it in.

Something like this is mainly aimed at those who already are fans and want something even better. Not very convincing from what has been shown.

Yeah lack of 4K BluRay player is a huge drawback for me.

Good thing I got a XBOX S 30% off

I'm a bit confused how 4K gaming is supported in absence of a 4K BluRay drive. Surely the game disc format would be pressed on 4K compatible discs.

Also the console will include a power brick, which aesthetically looked terrible with the XBOX One.

There was a lot of appeal with the PS4 not requiring an external power supply.
