I said as much. The hand or hammer need to be perpendicular to each other. With this pose I thought Thor's wrist should be perpendicular to the hammer swing but I think this is too late for that type of change. Maybe Randy should do a modern version with that correction.

He would look like an idiot if his hand and hammer would be perpendicular. If that would be the pose he should be standing straight not like this.

Here is Thor in his idiot form. Looks like his hand is perpendicular to me. The only way for a person to spin something around in such fashion while your hand is parallel to the object is for you to swing your entire arm in the same direction of the object. Take a look at this picture from Olivier Coipel. He has Thor's hand perpendicular to the hammer check it out.
